Heroes:
Notes:
- Snowmane or the Song of Travel in the opening hand are going to be a good start for this deck.
- Gamling's response to get back:
- The Riddermark's Finest
- Westfold Horse-breaker
- Westfold Lancer and Outrider
- Ride to Ruin's discarded ally (see Sideboard)
- Guthlaf will be useful even without Théoden's discount.
- The Horse-breeder and Mustering the Rohirrim will find cards and thin our deck at the same time.
- The Horse-breaker is great to ready Éomer or Éowyn for combat phase and use their boost multiple times.
- Discard it before resolving Éomer's first attack. He will be ready and boosted for that attack and the next one.
- Discard it after Éowyn's first +9 attack to attack once again (since her boost will remain until the end of the phase).
- Théoden won't have any boost but can be readied to defend again or counter-attack.
- Riddermark's Finest are great for location control, especially if Gamling is already in play. Their 2 is also great for this deck.
- Westfold Lancers are versatile but they are mainly here for questing.
- If we need to press the red button, we also have their response, boosting Éomer at the same time.
- Discard Outriders after enemy attack resolution to engage another enemy bypassing the enemy attack step (and boosting Éomer as well).
- Keep Watch is here because this deck doesn't have any healing option... at least we'll reduce some damage in combat.
- The Storm Comes will be an alternative if we cannot find the songs.
Sideboard:
- Elfhelm is great and even more so when the only threat reduction we have is Gandalf. The only drawback is his cost.
- He is also the rohan ally with better defensive stats ( + ).
- Háma is a great defender but we need Gamling before him.
- My major issue here is that I don't really like cycling a 2-cost ally.
- I see it more beneficial to stay with Théoden, Éomund and the Horse-breeder for defensive duties.
- Mithril Shirt can be seen as a healing option for Théoden.
- It was originally in the deck. I swaped it by the Silver Circlet.
- Ride to Ruin will make it easier claiming the Mithril Shirt.
- The Horse-breeder is the best target for its discard cost (so much better if Gamling is in play).
- Regardless the Shirt, if we still have some missing mount, the Ride to Ruin + Gamling combo may be useful to have another chance to play the Horse-breeder.
- The Riddermark's Finest are also another way to handle the Shirt.
