This is my version of the classic Black Rider Hobbit line-up, adopted with the Hobbit cards from Mount Gundabad.

The biggest difference is the inclusion of Sting, which goes obviously on Sam Gamgee. It makes us also play other cards: Open the Armory to fetch it, Foe-hammer whoch can be triggered easier and Sterner than Steel for Shadow cancellation. That way we don't need Staff of Lebethron and we can use the restricted slot for Ring Mail which synergizes again with the whole Weapon/Armor combo. This deck is build to handle one enemy per turn, so it's often good to wait with Sting until there are no other enemies in play do not get "enemy locked".

With this cards taking a lot of our deck space and allowing our heroes to better in combat, we shift away from the Big allies/Elf-stone strategy. For that reason we don't play Resourceful (even if The Shirefolk could help us to stay in secrecy) our cards are cheap enough that we don't need the extra ressources.

We play more cheap allies instead. There are a couple of uniques that synergize with the Hobbit mechanics, but except for Rosie Cotton it seems not worth playing multiples. An honorable mention goes to the Envoy of Pelargir which is here beside having no target for her abilty, but the neutral ressource cost makes her in my opininon better than for exemple Naith Guide.

The first Fast Hitch goes on Sam, then Rosie Cotton is often the best target. But if you havent draw her yet, don't bother waiting and attach it to Merry for more quest power.

I tried to include Drinking Song but this deck is less build about a combo and all cards are useful so i dropped it. Friend of Friends takes to long to setup and doesn't make much a difference in the late game.

Nice deck, as usual, Roka! I appreciate the logical thought process behind your deck changes and card choices.
