This is the multiplayer deck we've been using to combat nightmare scenarios and large fellowship events. After years of playing it still comes out on top for consistency.
The deck is pretty easy to pilot and is an absolute blast. You're using Aragorn to trigger both Faramir and Mablung a 2nd time every turn. The extra resources from Mablung pay for expensive allies which will then power A Very Good Tale. Faramir's readies will go to Treebeard and Legolas for extra combat power and card draw.
The allies are all high-value, often with come into play abilities. Try to get Honour Guards + some defenders (Derndingle Warrior, Treebeard, or Eagles of the Misty Mountains ) set up quickly to block most everything. Treebeard and Legolas are the main priority, as they're the best allies to combine with Faramir's ability. Eagles of the Misty Mountains will grow pretty quickly as you use up Vassal of the Windlords, I tend to power one up and use the others for questing.
Don't be afraid to chump block, Orophin and Gwaihir will get back dead allies. RĂºmil, Meneldor, and Pippin are all there for their great abilities and 2 willpower.
Sneak Attack + Gandalf will help with threat, but can also be used to draw cards if you feel behind. A Very Good Tale should be used on at least a 4 cost ally, and never on a 1 cost.
2x Steed of the North on Aragorn to keep readying him after engagements, and every copy of Support of the Eagles as well. Sword that was Broken makes this deck a questing monster mid to late game, helping push during the last few turns.
Gather Information is there to act as a third copy of Sword that was Broken or another value card if you already have it. Send for Aid is absolutely bonkers in this deck.
While this deck benefits greatly from Steward of Gondor, it doesn't 100% need it. The side deck is the 3 cards I swap out if another deck wants to use Steward of Gondor. The side decked Hirgon is for the scenarios where you can't use Aragorn due to story reasons.
Try the deck out. It feels like running 6 heroes when you set up Eagles of the Misty Mountains, Treebeard and Legolas all together.

Aug 29, 2019Nice deck, very good ideas and synergy. Just one question, you talk about combining Honour Guard and Derdingle Warrior, I don't if what you mean is that you use the Honour Guard to prevent to damage the Derdingle Warrior does to himself to get the Defense bonus. If that's the case though I think that won't work cause if you prevent a damage that is the cost of an ability it does not activate (same goes for Erkenbrand and Treebeard hero, for example). |

Aug 29, 2019nice deck. How about including some secret vigil's to keep your threat under control, since you start pretty high? |

Since this is a multiplayer deck, usually another player is packing spirit with some threat control (Double Back, Galadriel, etc) and it's usually enough. I wouldn't pack Magic Ring or anything that raises threat for sure, but it's seldom an issue. |
Aug 03, 2020Haven't tried it yet but it looks pretty stupid good, well done. Love the Aragorn synergies. |
Aug 03, 2020what about "wait no longer" and dunedain hunter ringsdb.com ? then you can trigger mablung and faramir additionally in the planning phase or the questphase. |
