Durins_Father 2942

Durins_Father has a newer deck inspired by this one: A full display with minimal heroes

Next in line for a single hero deck is Rossiel with her abilities all focussed on the Victory display. But since she is the only hero in the deck, secrecy is way easier to maintain and you can therefore stock that Victory display with all kinds of cards to boost her stats. This also makes events like Keen as Lances easier to get going. That card is particularly good in this deck since you'll need either the resources, cards or the treat reduction.

The mainstream Victory events are included to make it easier for this deck to remove any nasty cards in the encounter deck. Scout Ahead can also help to achieve this before it goes to the victory display itself. Further included cards are mostly tied in with Secrecy, Silvan or Victory synergies.

To get your resources going, you'll again need as many Resourcefuls as humanly (elvenly??) possible. This will help you to pay for the slightly more expensive cards as the game progresses. To help get out your more expensive allies, The Tree People is included to get cards like Haldir of Lórien on the table for perhaps the cost of a Henamarth Riversong after he has checked the top card of the encounter deck. Additionally, Leaf Brooch is a card that I haven't used for most of my solo hero decks but is worth including in this one because the many events that aren't free, even whilst in secrecy. With 23 events, you should be able to play all events for free (except Keen as Lances while the encounter deck is still empty) as long as it is the first event you play each round.

To make Rossiel defend some more, I added Cloak of Lórien and A Burning Brand to make her defend ideally for 6 while discarding all shadow cards.

Readying effects are limited but Lembas supplies with a little bit of it. Card draw acceleration is included with Daeron's Runes and Hidden Cache as they basicly replace themself making it likely that you come across many of the events in this deck.

To help Rossiel in the attacking and questing phase, some allies are included, mostly Silvans to make The Tree People go off hopefully as many times as possible. Quickbeam is included to help attacking, Galadhrim Minstrel can help draw you even more events.

All in all I enjoyed making this deck to fill the victory display with cards and denying them screentime in my games. Which Hero should be next?

Do a single hero Caldara deck!!!

Jokes aside, single hero Gandalf would be cool.

Have you tested this deck out? I'm curious to know how it fares--I often struggle with resources in two-hero decks!

Do you think of this as a solo or multiplayer deck?

I'm likewise curious how you fare resource-wise. Only gaining one resource a round means if you don't get an opening-hand Resourceful-- which you won't about 50% of the time even if you aggressively mulligan for it-- it'll take you three times as long to pay for cards as a typical 3-hero deck.

Given the resource-starved nature of playing with fewer than three heroes, I'd think Hidden Cache would be really rough for card draw. It's basically spending an entire round's worth of resources just to replace itself. Something like Deep Knowledge would get you to your much-needed Resourcefuls a lot quicker, and with a starting threat of just 8, you could certainly afford the doomed cost.

Resources are indeed a problem in a solo hero deck, especially without the resource sphere Leadership. You should hope to play Keen as Lances for free asap. This should cause you to either draw cards or gain more resources. Hidden Cache is also a good draw for the resources to play cards, you are not forced to use the action in the same turn. You could use the resources for other things and later on during the quest, either discard it for Daeron's Runes or use it to draw a card if you have spare resources and find yourself short of cards in your hand. Doomed cards like Deep Knowledge are indeed interesting to include because of the low starting threat. However, you should be careful since the deck doesn't include a lot of threat reduction and there are some key-cards that require Secrecy.

I advice that this deck is used in a multiplayer quest since the other players can help this deck to keep enemies away so that this deck can set up.

I do plan to make a resource heavy solo- to start churning out allies to find out how a solo-deck can work resource wise. Gandalf would be interesting to build a deck around, however I am not sure if he can pay for regular sphere cards played from your hand. Otherwise, you could only play the cards from your hand and the , , and from the top of your deck. This would restrict you in playing cards every round.

Hidden Cache only triggers its resource bonus if it's discarded from your deck-- e.g. by Zigil Miner or A Very Good Tale. If you draw it, you don't get any resources, and your only option is to play it for its draw effect.

You could put in an Expert Treasure Hunter, perhaps, which explicitly discards cards from the top of your deck and would therefore trigger the Cache. But that'd be a very janky, low-percentage combo, so I don't think you could count on it hitting reliably.

I had always thought that the effect also trigfered when you would take it into your hand, but you are right, it isn't like that as you say. An updated version will be provided within a few days where I'll probably replace it with Needful to Know and Deep Knowledge to help with caed draw and threat reduction to balance the doomed.
