Beravor has always been one of my favourite heroes and was one of my first choices for the new The Grey Wanderer contract. The built in readying means you can use Beravor's ability every round to draw more cards.

Use Strider for her free attachment (obvs). Then keep drawing cards to get some Resourceful and play Steward of Gondor with A Good Harvest. The deck tries to cover all bases, and with so much card draw there's quite a few 1-ofs. You will see them. I regularly draw through the whole deck.

Combat is covered by the Beornings and Beravor with A Burning Brand and Gondorian Shield, making her a solid defender.

There's plenty of questing with all the 2-cost 2 allies and Gandalf can always get you out of a tight spot.

Firyal and Henamarth Riversong give some scrying and encounter control.

how are you playing steward of gondor?

A Good Harvest is there to play Steward of Gondor, it can also be used to get around the limit of only the first non-unique card not needing a resource match to dump a whole load of allies on the table at once when you are swimming in resources.

Hey, you stole my deck's title! Just joking, Beravor really is a great target for this contract. Nice deck, really appreciate it, and Beravor and Firyal in especial is some real girl power!

Oops, sorry! I didn't think to check if there were other decks with the same title. I guess "Wandering X" where X is the hero is just an obvious title to go for! Your deck looks cool too, I really like that you went all in and had no allies, I wasn't brave enough for that challenge :)

Funny enough, it actually took me a while to come up with that name (and to convince myself that it's fitting), and while I like the no ally approach, some quests are unbeatable with it, unfortunately. I guess yours could work well against most quests?

I've only played it against 5 or 6 quests so far, but it's beaten most of them easily. It struggles when the quest throws a lot at you on turn 1. I'm just working through the Angmar Awakened cycle, and it failed against Deadmen's Dike on my first attempt, and I decided it wasn't the right deck for that quest so I switched it out for a different deck with some powerful starting heroes.

Yes, Grey Wanderer decks tend to turtle in the beginning, and have a really hard time going up against quests that require some power at the start (especially with an enemy starting engaged with you). The only solution I have found so far is to use Risk Some Light and hope to be able to re-arrange the first three encounter cards in a way that gives some breathing room.

Ah nice, I don't think I've ever used that card. Thanks for pointing it out!
