This deck is for multi-player, therefore Glóin. Alternatively Balin for reasons. If making a solo deck, I'll need Thorin Oakenshield for quest power, and probably a lot of other changes too. All other blue Dwarf heroes are useless for Forth, The Three Hunters!, because their abilities relate to playing dwarf allies or having 5 Dwarf characters, or they just aren't very good (Dwalin). Instead I have a fantastic blocker, and the classic attacker, and... someone purple.

The problem with Well-Equipped is that it can't give me a free Guarded item... I can choose the item to attach to a Dwarf, and then as soon as I put it in play it gets re-routed to its Guarded state. Therefore I've cut Ring of Thrór because it really only works if I get it early. I could add it back in, with 3 copies, or have another player provide it. Mithril Shirt is fine because I don't need it until late game, so I have time to get past the Guarded.

Most of the attachments are Tactics and super-expensive - don't forget the contract discount, but it's still going to be tricky. Well-Equipped will help with that, and Parting Gifts will help eventually, but I decided to try running a few cheap things. If everything goes well, I'll find the cheap ones with Open the Armory, get a couple expensive ones with Well-Equipped, slap down whatever I've got and go. So I have one Bow of Yew for Gimli, and one Round Shield for Dain, and maybe one Dwarrowdelf Axe for Gimli too. 3 copies of Armor of Erebor, because I need Sentinel to get Armored Destrier or The Day's Rising (which is one reason I cut Day's Rising). Everything else in here can come up in any order and it doesn't much matter which.

As with any Gimli deck, he starts out as the main blocker, and then passes that off (in this case, to Dáin Ironfoot) so that he can do all the attacking. One of them can quest with Unexpected Courage, and Glóin can pretty much quest any time, but mostly I have Cram for emergencies instead of Courage. I have 3 Raiment of War to get the quick contract flip, but I have a whole array of other things I'd prefer. Here's my ideal endgame, if everything goes exactly right:

Dáin Ironfoot:

Gimli:

Glóin:

Total number of restricted attachments: 19, three of which count as double

Stuff here that isn't restricted, is all actually important, because:

If you’re looking for more non-tactics restricted attachments there are a couple in the newest packs: Valiant Sword and it’s matching shield. I believe they go on Nobles which all your heroes are.

I have a deck with this exact working title, but I've been putting off posting it until Fortress of Nurn is out so I have access to a last couple of attachments - so I guess you beat me to the punch (I was probably going to rename it anyway though).
