Introduction
After meeting Frodo and Sam in the Shire's forests, Gildor decides to walk a bit with them. They will travel alongside other hobbits, the faithfull Bill, and maybe one or two "Big People" : a noble human, a wise noldor, an ancient ent or a brave eagle.
As this Fellowship is quite little, they are going to need some powerfull help : that's why Elrond and Gandalf are keeping an eye on them, ready to help. And to join the inevitable second Breakfast.
How it works
A mono- Fellowship may be a discutable idea, as this sphere has probably the lowest density of powerfull unique allies.
That's why this deck focuses on the other advantages of the sphere :
- the ability to bounce allies from your hand, with Sneak Attack, Horns! Horns! Horns! and the pinacle of this deck : Reinforcements, giving you access to powerfull allies with great enter play effects.
- the possibility to reccur those events once your deck is empty with the Tome+Second Breakfast combo.
- the easier access to ressource generation in order to afford them, for example with Steward of Gondor, Red Book of Westmarch or Captain's Wisdom.
Face B of the Fellowship contract doesn't let you put allies into play, so you want to stay with 7 or 8 characters (=4 or 5 allies). Priorise Erestor (for the card draw), but Rosie is also a great choice if you need to buff Sam's or . Wilyador is mostly here if you need to flip contract early and lack the ressources for a bigger ally.
Flip temporarly contract during quest and/or combat phase (in late game you can have money for both), using the enter play ability of Gandalf or Elrond depending of your needs :
- card draw
- condition removal
- healing
- threat reduction
- direct damage
First Gandalf should be used to drop back in secrecy if you have a Ressourceful. Then you want to card draw in order to find your bounce card and empty your deck
Side notes
- The idea of the Reinforcements-Gandalf recursion comes from this deck. I removed Beorn because i don't think you need such firepower.
- Reinforcements can put allies under any player control, so you can stay with 8 unique characters and send Gandalf to someone else in multiplayer.
- In multiplayer you can easily remove the one ring or Treebeard. Steward is harder to get rid of (in this case i usally go Halfast +Gandalf on Reinforcements to get 1 ressource back).
- With MotK Rosie you can start in secrecy. Could be worth the try, especially if you don't have Steward.
- I have only one core box, but you can remove 2 Horns! Horns! Horns! for one more Sneak Attack and Steward of Gondor.
How did you add sideboard in the deck editor ?
