I have been trying to build a thematic and functional deck around Host of Galadhrim since Bond of Friendship was released, this is the closest I have managed. The deck is definitely strong, but not that thematic (you may interchange one Elf-friend with one Vilya to make the deck more thematic).
The idea behind this deck is to rapidly build a board of 4 to 5 allies, and once you have one copy of Galadhrim Minstrel and Galadhrim Weaver in play, you can probably play each round Host of Galadhrim.
The resource acceleration provided by Resourceful and O Lórien! will allow you to keep increasing your ally board will still playing Host of Galadhrim each round.
The card drawing provided by Galadriel, Galadhrim Minstrel and Legolas will ensure that you always have one of the two copies of Host of Galadhrim in your hand.
Your main defender is Elrond, but the Greenwood Defender is here to deal with small enemies.
I have left a side board to adapt the deck to certain quests (A Burning Brand for nasty shadows) or for multiplayer games (Gather Information) or just for silly things like Rúmil shooting each round for 8 damage.
Vilya is not really needed and it is fully interchangeable for any other neutral card.

Dec 27, 2020The best candidate for resourceful is Elrond. He has the Lore and Spirit (with Vilya) spheres, and can use his resources to pay for any ally. Light of Valinor is of course an excellent choice, the only reason I have not included it is because it is unique, so I free it for multiplayer. But indeed, one Unexpected Courage should be swaped by a Light of Valinor. The Elvenking is already in the side board, and for sure a great card, it could be swapped by a copy of O Lorien may be. Nevertheless, I have found that in between Naith Guide and Green Wood Archer, I do not need that many reading effects. |
Dec 28, 2020I played a BoF silvan deck and founded Nenya not really useful. should not be a problem, especially with Éowyn, and Galadriel's Action is way too good. Would add 2 Defender of the Naith and also replace one Greenwood Defender with Orophin. |
Dec 28, 2020You are probably right about Nenya, or at least in some quests, but I am not a big fan of Defender of Naith. The change of one Defender for Orophin is something I am testing. The thing is that in some nightmare quests, due to the high threat, I get many enemies pretty soon, having the Greenwood Defender on the table saves the day, with only one copy it may be tough. I guess, it may work having the second copy in the sideboard... |
Dec 29, 2020Captain's Wisdom can possible accelerate the whole process. and i would consider Galion for 1 Galadriel's Handmaiden free use of treefolk and feigned voices. |
Looks promising! Who gets Resourceful? You might want to add a single copy of Light of Valinor and The Elvenking each to the sideboard.
