Durins_Father 3137

A highly thematic deck focussing on the first half of the Fellowship of the Ring. This deck symbolises the party of Frodo Baggins leaving the Shire with a Brandybuck, a Took and a Gardener. They meet in Bree with Aragorn which helps them to Vanish from Sight from their enemies for a short while. They eventually reach Rivendell where Frodo is saved by Glorfindel, healed by Elrond and Imladris Caregivers with the help of some Weed. In Rivendell they meet Bilbo who lets the smoke the weed with their new Pipes and giving Aragorn a Map to add to his collection.

This deck is made to make good use out of the new Strider card that will be released shortly. The deck is very strong in questing and defence, but should be paired with a powerful attacking deck, perhaps with some ranged. The deck lets both heroes make use of A Burning Brand and they can get Sentinel (one at a time) with Arwen Undómiel.

To lower the treat of this deck, pipe attachments are added to be attached on the many Hobbits in this deck. Elevenses can also lower it even further so that you can engage whoever you'd like. Healing capabilities in this deck come in the form of the Imladris Caregiver who can exhaust for Athelas. This will also get rid of any other nasty Condition attachments.

Sam Gamgee is next to free in this deck and also a target for a pipe attachment. After your threat has been raised by Frodo Baggins, Deep Knowledge or Wandering Took, Sam Gamgee could get a nice stat boost whilst also being ready.

Aragorn needs his Ring of Barahir for the icon and with the Ring of Barahir and Thror's Map, he gains two hitpoints which make him extremely resilient against enemy attacks. He can commit to the quest and immediately ready with Wingfoot and Henamarth Riversong. A Burning Brand and Arwen Undómiel make him possibly the best defender during your quest.

Glorfindel is easy to ready if you are able to discard some duplicate unique cards, he is then able to quest and attack during the same round.

Furthermore, there are some other combinations which let this deck shine wilst keeping your threat low and defending quite well for other players. Action advantage is also well represented in this deck with Fast Hitch and Unexpected Courage to make both heroes quest AND defend.

--UPDATE VERSION 2.0--

Strider has been added to the pool for Aragorn to gain 2 during the early game and he now doesn't need to exhaust to quest. This attachment is also very thematic in this deck and this version of Aragorn (art wise) I find the best match.
