Crus 72
This is one of the decks I designed to take with me to Lure of Middle Earth 2025. Thus, the target is clearly to provide some benefits in a multiplayer game.
Introduction
For single player, I prefer to play Silvans with Bifur since it enables cards like Unlikely Friendship and We Are Not Idle and also provides a consistent way to play Galadhrim Minstrel in round 1. However, I do not like this deck in multiplayer, since my planning phase usually takes quite some time and there are no interactions that help across the table. Bifur out, Saruman in for some extra fun.
Concept
Get as many Silvans out as quickly as possible, making use of the excessive card draw and similar: Galadriel, Galadhrim Minstrel, Deep Knowledge, The Tree People, Word of Command. There are several options to reduce the costs of Silvans or get them out for freely like The Tree People, O Lórien! or Horns! Horns! Horns!+Host of Galadhrim. Getting some Galadhrim Weaver out early also helps to get cards like The Tree People or Host of Galadhrim back into the deck, which should be empty after some rounds. At this point, it is basically about playing Host of Galadhrim at least every second turn.
There are also so many 'tutor' cards that let you search your deck for another card like Galadhrim Minstrel, Saruman's Staff, The Tree People, Word of Command which make the deck flexible and consistent.
Despite Saruman's restriction, threat is no issue for this deck. Galadriel counteracts the usual threat increase and Galadriel's Handmaiden even reduces it when played (initially and through Host of Galadhrim).
What to look out for
Anything to make Saruman work, i.e. Saruman's Staff, Word of Command.
Also, anything that gets the silvan engine running is very welcome. Fotr example: Galion, Henamarth Riversong, O Lórien!, Galadhrim Minstrel, Galadhrim Weaver, The Tree People.
Multiplayer Benefits
Well, this is all about Saruman and is rather straight forward. All the doomed events (Deep Knowledge, Horns! Horns! Horns!, Legacy of Númenor, The Wizards's Voice, Power of Orthanc) give great boosts for all players on the table. With his staff, they come at nearly no costs and even ready Saruman.
