Truck 1416

Truck has a newer deck inspired by this one: Drinking and Smoking on the High Seas

The Theme:

Drinking and Smoking. . . Something a 14 year old should not be making a deck about.

Strategy:

The basic strategy of this deck is to get Pipes and Allies out fast. The key Pipes are Dwarf Pipe and Spare Pipe, so you don't lose too much of your deck or too many of Dáin's hit points too quickly. You don't want to play many Doomed cards until you have Saruman's Staff out, because there's no threat reduction in this deck.

Cards:

This deck is a complete and utter piece of garbage that can be salvaged by good piloting. So, I have a detailed list of what you should do with most of the cards:

Dáin Ironfoot: He gets Dwarf Pipe, all copies of Spare Pipe (he is the master smoker) a Pint or two, along with a Half-pint as well maybe (also master drinker), and Keys of Orthanc. he is the deck's defender (duh).

Nob: Nob gets pretty much nothing in a normal situation, except for Hobbit Pipe and Fast Hitch if you can pull it. He combos well with Wizard Pipe to keep himself readied after drawing cards. If he is readied in the quest phase, he always quests.

Saruman: The big-bad-heavy-metal wizard gets His Staff, and Wizard Pipe. He's the main attacker, but also quests when you need it, which is a lot in the early game.

Dunedain Allies: They're here to get Dúnedain Pipe. Sarn Ford Sentry is a bit costly, but I was able to draw quite a few cards with her(it looks like a her to me, prove me wrong).

Hobbit Allies: Mainly here to get Hobbit Pipe. Robin Smallburrow's effect can be useful, as can Halfling Bounder's if you have cleared Gather Information, but whatever happens, don't discard a Bounder with a Pipe. I have no good reason for that, but don't do it. You're not allowed.

Dwarf Allies: Here mainly to get Dwarf Pipe, but they fit much nicer into the mechanics of this deck than the other allies. Erebor Toymaker helps play attachments cheaper, and provides decent questing. Erebor Hammersmith can recur Pipes lost by Dain's effect or treacheries/shadows, or bring back a Half-pint. Erebor Record Keeper can help with questing for cheap, or get another defense out of Dain. These Dwarves are much more useful than any other ally in the deck.

Radagast & Galion: Radagast is here to get Wizard Pipe, and also as an act of protest, and you can't make a drinking deck without Galion.

Pint & Half-pint: The beer. Half-pint can go to anyone pretty much, but the first two copies of Pint are for Dain.

Wizard Pipe: Wizard Pipe is used to move an Item attachment from your hand to the top of your deck before you use Nob's ability, so he can be ready for questing without needing a Fast Hitch.

Doomed Cards: The doomed cards are to be used with care and caution. You don't want your threat up too high, and they are Saruman's only form of readying. So I normally reserve them for when I have Saruman's Staff and only in the Combat phase.

Word of Command & Gather Information: Use wisely, if your wits haven't been compromised by the beer.

Smoke and Think & Old Toby: Most of the cards are inexpensive, so Smoke and Think can be used whenever, but save Old Toby until you have quite a few Pipes out.

Well, that's all the walk through you need, except for the bit about not trying this deck if you want to win. Let me know if you've tried this out, I want to see how it goes.

What about Bilbo Baggins? Seems like he would be a great fit for your deck. Also, what about Master of the Forge to get your key attachments out quick?

Cool deck though!

because you overcard so heavily (66) consider A Perilous Voyage

i think, using the contract, you will et your important cards earlier and you can include more card drawing/selecting. in dire situations you can evan let saruman die before threading out and use full contract.

if you do so, then i would a) max all cards you allready have to 3 copies b) include (3 of each) Heed the Dream, Master of the Forge. Imladris Stargazer, Zigil Miner Hidden Cache Ered Luin Miner

after that you should be nearly the 100

@GreenWizard Thanks! I didn't use either of the suggested cards because I forgot about them, lol, but they definitely are good adds. I'll try them out.

@doomguard Good suggestions. I definitely will be trying those out as well.(minus Hidden Cache, I don't have that one yet) The Contract seems like a really good idea here, and a very interesting one too. Thanks.

No the Wizards voice?

@StewofGondor1 It's in the Perilous Voyage version.

I know that you're running out of deck space, but if you do end up going with A Perilous Voyage you can always add Haleth (if you have that card) for further item-finding.
