Goals: offense, and lots of it. Elladan kills, Grimbeorn defends in order to kill, and Legolas kills to place progress. Attachments and events are the name of the game with a few token allies just in case. Mulligan for Rivendell Bow to get Elladan ranged and get an attachment on Legolas. Thematically designed for father/sons multiplayer adventuring where your fellowship includes a deck with Elrohir for defense and a deck with Elrond for support and questing.
The Heroes
-
Elladan's ideal loadout would consist of Orcrist, found in a deck led by Elrohir, plus Rivendell Blade and Rivendell Bow. Rohan Warhorse could also go on him to replace Rivendell Blade if there are numerous weaker enemies and/or if readying an additional time is a priority. Resources from Proud Hunters go on Elladan while he and Legolas tag-team enemies.
-
Grimbeorn can share the load on defense somewhat but only in the name of getting a chance at clubbing someone. He gets Raiment of War which counts as a weapon and can trigger Swift and Strong, allowing him to defend once, spend 1 resource and then attack for an effective 5 followed by a second attack with an effective 7. He can also trigger Sterner than Steel with his Raiment.
-
Legolas riding Arod contributes to indirectly by placing progress tokens; no one in this lineup is going to quest otherwise. Bow of the Galadhrim has his name on it, as well as a Rivendell Bow and Rivendell Blade which allow him to hit for effectively 8 .
The Allies
Defender of Rammas and Soldier of Dol Amroth are there for fodder and to provide emergency defense and overall moral support. If there are excess Raiments Rammas is a great recipient so he's a little more durable, while Soldier of Dol Amroth can let you play an event for free if you place him last and save the resources on your heroes for their printed abilities.
Everything Else
Elven Mail is for Elrohir's benefit. Rohan Warhorse can assist with readying Elladan or Legolas and replaces Rivendell Blade. Secret Vigil keeps the group's threat manageable, while other staples such as Feint, Quick Strike, and Hands Upon the Bow are fairly self-explanatory. Foe-hammer is necessary to get everyone's attachments on the board and since there are no shortage of attachments one can be fairly flexible as far as triggering it and potentially having leftover weapons for something like Swift and Strong.

May 13, 2019Description to third deck will be added shortly and an updated link will be posted. Just wanted to get the deck out there for starters. |
May 14, 2019Thanks alot. There are some nice combinations in the decks. Especially Elladan and Orcrist (like Seastan showed in his "Machin-Gun Elladan" Deck). For more Card Draw you could add Glamdring in the Lore-Deck and for more Willpower Faramir in the Leadership-Deck. To add more location-controll beside Arod and Legolas I like Mirkwood Explorer , Rhovanion Outrider and Asfaloth (even without a Hero Glorfindel, but you could add it to Glorfindel if you draw him. If not, there are enough Noldor in your decks I think .) I like the idea playing with Elrohir, Elladan and Elrond. I 'm playing with one friend most of the time. So I will see to build a two player fellowship of your three decks. |
May 24, 2019I actually had Faramir in my side board in case we needed further questing, but honestly after playing a few games with the decks, the Leadership and Lore/Spirit deck were able to pretty safely quest upwards of 30 without issue, with plenty of defenses and attacks left, particularly due to Elrohir and Elladans ability |
May 28, 2019Below is the link to the Elrond deck with description. www.ringsdb.com |
Sounds good. Can you post the second deck / the fellowship with Elrond and Elrohir?
