This is a grief deck designed to go with its companion (see fellowship). Gríma puts other players' threat up while you reset yours with Loragorn. Eleanor is included to cancel inoffensive treacheries and replace them with worse encounter cards. Here is a rundown of each card in the deck:

Allies:

•Play Gandalf(that version) to prevent everyone else from doing so.

Master of Lore can provide a two-resource swing with Grima and a three-resource swing with Grima and Keys of Orthanc.

•Use Miner of the Iron Hills to get rid of other players' Lights of Valinor and Unexpected Courages.

•Play Saruman and Greyflood Wanderer for their Doomed and decline to trigger the responses.

•Wandering Took can push someone's threat over the edge while dropping yours. It becomes more effective with multiple copies.

•Do a Brandon and Gleowine yourself.

Attachments:

•Give yourself even more resources with Keys of Orthanc.

•Blank the text boxes of helpful locations with Thrór's Key.

Dark Knowledge can reduce the willpower of questing heroes.

Thror's Map gives you sole control over where to travel.

Scroll of Isildur recycles all of your fun events for additional use.

•Make sure you cover yourself, and not others, with A Burning Brand.

Events:

A Light in the Dark returns enemies to the staging area after they've already attacked.

Power of Orthanc both raises other players' threat and removes player conditions.

Deep Knowledge for some draw and Doomed!

Distant Stars lets you pick the location with the worst "when active" effect and make it active.

Don't Be Hasty! removes high willpower characters from the quest.

Infighting to move 26 damage from Durin's Bane to a puny Goblin Swordsman.

Out of the Wild and Risk Some Light to stack the encounter deck in the worst possible way.

Short Cut lets you use Wandering Took to swap out a nice location for a horrific enemy or treachery.

•Play Waters of Nimrodel first-turn when no one's damaged- everyone gets Doomed!

•Use The Seeing-stone to grab Power of Orthanc when your buddies start playing Conditions.

I ended up deriving this from gopher79's grief deck, but I added many of the suggestions others had posted. Don't forget there's a companion deck helping this one to grief.

This seems like a good pair of decks to run against the new GenCon quest- can two grief decks bring down ten regular ones? We'll see. We'll see...
