TheSteward 32

TheSteward has a newer deck inspired by this one: Take It To The Limit

This deck has been through a few iterations, always with Éowyn and Legolas. However, the new kid in town is Radagast. The journey of the sorcerer into this deck was an obvious one, all told. Even though I've always been on the border of including either Gwaihir or Na'asiyah and making this a mono-Tactics deck, Radagast was always just waiting in the weeds and there's no more walks in the wood for my favourite Istari. His ability to pay for Creatures out of sphere is perfect, along with the buff from Radagast's Staff when it comes along.

In the long run, these 3 heroes are a fast company - a perfect match.

Eowyn provides the questing (plus that awesome one-off hard hit she can use as the last resort); she has always received the best of my love - in either her or form. Legolas is my ranged desperado and combos nicely with various attachments and events.

The deck is designed to get moving quickly, with many cheap Eagles included, before things get out of control. The Eagles love life in the fast lane, they never take it easy, being easily discarded, but they often contribute even after they've already gone (especially if I have a couple of Eagles of the Misty Mountains in play). Those Misty Mountain birds get buffed very quickly, so including 3 Support of the Eagles is also a no-brainer. One of these nights I'm going to get a Support on each hero, and then really cause some heartache tonight.

The mix of Eagles contribute a selection of willpower, attack, and defence, as well as some useful location and damage powers. They give me a peaceful easy feeling like no other Trait.

Feint, Quick Strike and Hands Upon the Bow help to keep enemies at bay, and The Eagles Are Coming! and Heed the Dream ensure no wasted time.

instead of Heed the Dream i might add Word of Command which may be better to find specific cards

i would use motk legolas. carddraw is rare in that deck. would also put in some rohan warhorses. lgolas with support of the eagles like that. would replace secret vigil for the horses, with 26 (tacticeowyn is not countet in ringsdb) should not have problems with thread.

@jvaderGreat advice, thanks. It would mean exhausting Radagast for a round, but isn't an issue if I can find any card

@doomguardIn my experience, threat has absolutely been an issue, with no other way of bringing it down and no mitigation of 'when revealed' effects. I haven't had issue with card draw, since The Eagles Are Coming! alleviates that issue mostly - at least in my games so far. Legolas is the only real target for Rohan Warhorse as Eowyn rarely fights (since she is my quester). Might put a couple in my side deck though and try them out in an enemy heavy scenario. Thanks for the ideas!
