This is a support-suicidal deck, meant to be played in +2 players mode. Be sure to make this deck play as 1st player.
Mulligan for either Justice Shall Be Done, or Word of Command (to look for Justice Shall Be Done). The goal of this deck is to find 4 cards: Song of Eärendil, Wandering Took, Desperate Alliance, and Vanish from Sight. Combo is pretty obvious: Leave everyone else with either 0 threat, or 2 threat + Wandering Took, then die at the end of Planning phase by threat, to reveal one less card during staging. This gets a lot better if you manage to play some Deep Knowledge and/or Legacy of Númenor, to leave your teammates with both more cards and resources.
Some tips:
- Don't advance to Planning Phase until you have used Gandalf's ability during the Resource phase (notice that his ability can be used once per phase).
- The 1st Song of Kings should be used on Arwen Undómiel; this is mostly to take advantage from Taking Initiative and Spirit sphere at the same time: Once you're done drawing cards, use Desperate Alliance on Gandalf and Erestor, and then play those Taking Initiative. This way, if you manage to grab some Legacy of Númenor, Spare Hood and Cloak, Palantir, or a 3rd Desperate Alliance, you can still play those cards.
- Thanks to Gandalf's ability which lets you scry your own deck, learn when to draw, and when to shuffle. If you see the top card of your deck is useful, then draw (Deep Knowledge, Daeron's Runes, We Are Not Idle, etc). If the top card of your deck is "garbage", shuffle (Heed the Dream, Word of Command, The Seeing-stone)
- Although Spare Hood and Cloak is meant to be passed onto your teammates' characters, it can also be used to ready Gandalf and play more copies of Word of Command if necessary.
And yep, this deck plays only the first two phases of the first round, and then dies. Do you think it's too little time to find all the combo pieces? Is this support-deck consistent? I'll tell you something: I've tried this deck many times, and it hasn't failed me not even once. This thing works over 95% of the time, easily; even more. You leave your teammates with literally 0 threat, plenty of cards, and even more resources; it's insane. If you're looking for overpowered, your prayers have been answered. Enjoy!
