Mustardman 576

Mustardman has a newer deck inspired by this one: Noldor: Pure Series #2

Pure Series:

This is a series of about 10 decks that I made that don’t share any cards with each other. Meaning I can only use Steward of Gondor in one of my 10 decks. This forces me to use different methods of card draw and resource generation.

I have every expansion, but only 1 core set :(

I do include different cards of the same unique character in different decks. (Ex. Haldir of Lórien hero in my Scout deck and Haldir of Lórien ally in my Silvan deck.)

Noldor Deck:

WARNING: Planning Phases may take longer than expected

Noldor is a very fun archetype and has the interesting dynamic of using cards in your discard pile to your advantage. This is mostly a questing deck.

Resources:

Your resources come from Love of Tales. There are many Songs included in this deck in order to trigger Love of Tales. Rivendell Minstrel can be used to help find songs you need. To the Sea, to the Sea! is a key attachment, once you get it out you can basically turn cards into coins!

Card Draw:

Elven-light is a very useful source of card draw. Once it’s in your discard pile you have the ability to use it every turn. If you have To the Sea, to the Sea! this basically turns 1 coin into 2 coins.

Mirror of Galadriel can help you search for many of the key attachments throughout this deck. Because of Mirror of Galadriel I was able to include fewer copies of each attachment. If you have a Silver Harp in play you don’t have to worry about discarding an important card from Mirror of Galadriel.

Lindir, Master of the Forge, and The Long Defeat are all also alternate sources of card draw.

Threat:

Elrond's Counsel can keep your threat under control, and can be played over and over again with Silver Harp, potentially lowering your threat by 12 in one turn!. If you feel like it you can help out other players by taking their threat for yourself using Song of Eärendil.

Discard:

Use Will of the West in order to keep cycling through your deck over and over again.

Allies:

Glorfindel is a really great ally. If you have To the Sea, to the Sea! in play you can discard Glorfindel and 3 Elven-lights in order to play him for 1 coin! Other powerful allies are Galdor of the Havens, Guardian of Rivendell, and Gildor Inglorion.

Elven Jeweler is not a key card, but is a great card to get in your opening hand. On the first turn of the game you will have a starting hand of 11, so discarding 2 will not be a problem.

Attachments:

Light of Valinor will be attached to Círdan the Shipwright. Allowing him to quest without exhausting, this leaves him free to use Narya later.

Nenya attaches to Galadriel and will basically give you an extra 4 willpower every turn + the sphere.

Silver Harp has many uses. It can be used to play songs over and over again, generating more resources. Or can help lower your threat with Elrond's Counsel.

Opening Hand:

If you get Love of Tales in your opening hand keep it. If you don’t get Love of Tales in your opening hand Mulligan.

Thanks!

I am not sure I understand how silver harp sinergies with Elrond's counsel.

I may be mistaken, but I thought that once you play Elrond's Counsel and it goes in the discard pile you can get it back into your hand with Silver Harp.

Now that I think about it I think that that is invalid because you are playing Elrond's Counsel instead of discarding it.

Anyone know if this is legal? Thanks

I see. No, it does not work like this. The Harp says "when a card is discarded from your hand". If you play it from your hand and then put it in the discard pile it does not count.

Ok, that changes gameplay, but will not change the deck its-self. Elrond's Counsel is still very powerful one it's own.

Love this type of deck, though keep in mind that Will of the West can only be used once per game. I therefore include 3X in my Noldor decks to try to cycle through my deck up to 3 times.

Gotcha, too bad I only have 1 copy of the core set, otherwise I would definitely include 3 copies.

Right, I'm one of those insane people who have 3x cores. Might be worth it to proxy a card or two. I love this series of decks you have built, you have inspired me to take on my own similar project :)

Thanks! It's always great to hear that I've helped someone else out.
