what is the best Denethor grey wanderer?
i try to make a soloution with a wide sideboard to fit most roles (except fortress of nurn)
-
decision, if 3 or more player including yourself are at your fellowship, use PalantĂr of Orthanc as defaultattachment and include 3 Rivendell Minstrel, elso let it out and take Song of Wisdom as default.
-
decision, if u want to play with AlePcards, include A Lesson in Caution and discard 3 other events (i would take 3 Drinking Song without a hobbit not soo effective)
-
decision, playing solo include The One Ring + Inner Strength
-
decision playing scenarious where sidequests are key (helms deep, black gate, if you really want: fortress of nurn, battle at pellenor, and some others) include some, Caleb likes that ;)
mulligan for Timely Aid or keep a hand with Steward of Gondor and A Very Good Tale
strategy:
play as many Timely Aid and A Very Good Tale in the first 2-3 rounds. to have lore from the start helps to independedtly draw with lore-cards and play leadershipcards, so the boardstate fills faster.
little trickys:
- Captain's Wisdom together with The Grey Wanderer good boost early in the game (results in 7 res 1. round)
- Soldier of Erebor can be used twice for A Very Good Tale (if availaible)
- 2 DĂșnedain Wanderer (playable with Denethor + contract 1. round or 1 highcost-ally +sneack + another ally (not treebeard) can be used for a A Very Good Tale
- Gandalf with Timely Aid or regular can be used again in refreshphase for A Very Good Tale
- if Gildor Inglorion is in play it is very good combo with Timely Aid to get an worthy ally from your hand into play
some ideas to make it better? only effectiveness, no theme needed ;)
