Zap7 7

Zap7 has a newer deck inspired by this one: Axe & bow, teeth & claw

The idea for this deck came, when I first saw Hunting Dogs and Widfast from Alep. This very thematic and well designed cards inspired me to do a deck around scouting and creatures theme. At first, setup with Gavin of course and don't forget to shuffle Eagle of the North into the encounter deck. During the game you will add Gavins ressource bonus to Haldan most of the time, to pay for the more expansive wisdom cards. Then try to mulligan for Song of Wisdom, to put it most likely on Lanwyn. Master of the Forge is also an important card to search for Song of Wisdom or attachments in general and Daeron's Runes will help you with this, too.

Attachments on locations are key to this deck, to trigger the card draw ability of Haldan as well as abilities of allies like Hunting Dogs and Forest Road Traveler. From the start of the game you will try to peak at the encounter deck as often as possible with Risk Some Light and Far-sighted, to put out locations. If you have an expansive ally in your hand, attach Elf-stone to one of the locations. Especially the ally Firyal will help you, as she can swap non-location cards out. You have to be careful with Widfast defending, as she only has 3 hitpoints. But you can boost her defense with Arwen Undómiel or best to use allies instead like Wilyador. The deck is a little weak on defending, but that is why it is a scouting deck!

In the late game you can shuffle all discarded cards back with Will of the West, if you need specific allies, attachments or events again like The Galadhrim's Greeting and A Test of Will. Don't forget that you can play Glorfindel from your discard pile, which has a nice combination with discarding cards from Daeron's Runes.
