I decided to do little experiment and try how many attempts I will need to win 5 times with deck, also using progressive play, so only the cards, which were available at that time, when scenario was out. This is #5: Conflict at the Carrock.

This deck is all about slow questing to be able to put on the table as much allies as possible, before go to the Carrock. Travel to most of the locations and keeping your threat lower then 34 to be able to put Trolls out one by one. I won this game 5 times in 6 attempts, in every new attempt I also added one more sacked! into the game and even so ended up to kill them all with final threat on 10 points. And it really doesn't matter what is your starting hand if all the cards ain't for 5 or more resources.

At the start only Gimli and Dúnhere do quests, while Denethor is used for his ability to move the cards to the bottom of the encounter deck (mainly removing sacked! treachery). A Burning Brand and Protector of Lórien are for him as main defender and and also Unexpected Courage, cause he has no limit to use his ability. Celebrían's Stone, Horn of Gondor and all Dúnedain Mark goes on Dúnhere so he got strong attack to the stage area. All other attachments are for Gimli: Citadel Plate, Dwarven Axe, Steward of Gondor, Song of Kings or Nor am I a Stranger.

Allies: Most important are Northern Tracker taking care of locations and Miner of the Iron Hills removing sacked! treachery cards. Most useless is Beorning Beekeeper which can be switched with another Feint and Éomund used only as back up for Gimli (with Nor am I a Stranger attachment) and for Dúnhere if they are exhausted and needed for fight. Rivendell Minstrel is also good to provide the song as soon as possible.

Other attachments: Born Aloft is used mainly with Gandalf or Miner of the Iron Hills. In the case of Gandalf and with Sneak Attack you can actually use Gandalf around 8 times during the game.

Events: the use of them is quite clear I think. I only note that Will of the West is good to have, cause game can take a lot of time and its good to have back up for bring back cards you will need again (only once as recently the card got errata'd).
