Pure Series:
I realized that my original Pure Series has become out of date, so I've remade many (if not all) of my decks.
This is a series of about 10 decks that I made that don’t share any cards with each other. Meaning I can only use Steward of Gondor in one of my 10 decks. This forces me to use different methods of card draw and resource generation.
I have every expansion, but only 1 core set :(
I do include different cards of the same unique character in different decks. (Ex. Haldir of Lórien hero in my Scout deck and Haldir of Lórien ally in my Silvan deck.)
Dúnedain Deck:
This deck is a multiplayer deck, best with 3-4 players. It focuses on trying to take every single enemy available.
Taking Enemies:
Dúnedain decks in general want to have a few enemies engaged with them at all times.
To reach its full potential this deck wants at least 2-3 enemies engaged with it at all times, but I've found that depending on how strong the enemies are, it can easily take upwards of 5-7 attacks per turn. This allows both Halbarad and Amarthiúl’s abilities to take effect (and helps various other cards).
If you're lucky enough to encounter a weak 1-3 attack enemies, DO NOT KILL THEM, keep them around.
In order to deal with multiple attacks per turn, this deck is loaded with ways to deal with enemies (Feint, Guardian of Arnor, Descendants of Kings, Armored Destrier, Cram, Ranger of Cardolan and more!)
Side Quests:
This is a little twist from the usual Dúnedain deck. Thurindir gets you a side quest on setup (Gather Information), then you use Gather Information in order to fetch Keep Watch. After Keep Watch is completed, enemies get -1 which is HUGE for the Dúnedains. You also have Vigilant Dúnadan who can take any enemies of 3 or lower without even exhausting!
Card Draw:
Card draw is a little weak in this deck, so a great card to see in your opening hand is Sarn Ford Sentry as he is basically the only real card draw in this deck. You typically want to save him for when you are engaged with a ton of enemies, where he'll draw you lots of cards. You can also use Gather Information to fetch Sarn Ford Sentry if you already have a Keep Watch in your hand (hence why there are 3 copies).
Opening Hand:
In your opening hand, you are looking for
- Sarn Ford Sentry or Keep Watch or Gather Information (any of the three will ultimately do the same thing)
If you draw a Gather Information in your opening hand, search for Keep Watch with Thurindir and then when Gather Information is completed you can get Sarn Ford Sentry instead.
Resources:
For resources, Amarthiúl's ability really helps out, but Heir of Valandil is the real MVP, basically getting you an ally for free every turn.
Attachments:
Dúnedain Warnings and Captain of Gondor go on Amarthiúl along with Armored Destriers and any Crams you have. Dúnedain Signal goes on other players so that they can help defend your enemies.

Thanks!

Apr 03, 2020If there is any way to boost Vigilant Dúnadan's defense, let me know. I looked through all my cards, but couldn't find any that were helpful/ |
Apr 03, 2020Wild Stallion, Round Shield, Narya, Squire's Helm, Elf-friend+Cloak of Lórien/Elven Mail other than those I think just events. |
Apr 03, 2020Arwen Undómiel in another deck could be pretty stellar too. |
Apr 03, 2020Thank you so much! Round Shield would be the only feasible one out of those and I was thinking about putting it in the deck but decided against it. And you're right, Arwen Undómiel would be crazy good! Since you would also gain sentinel. Luckily, Wild Stallion, Arwen Undómiel, and Narya are all in different decks throughout the Pure Series. So if you are playing with one of those, there's a chance you could boost his defense. |
Apr 03, 2020Rune-master could be a useful addition sense you could pass the Dúnedain Remedy healing one and the rune-master getting one resource. |
Apr 04, 2020Rune-master could definitely be an addition, great suggestion. I had 1 or 2 copies in the original deck but took them out for the extra copies of Keep Watch. They probably should be in the sideboard. If you were to include them, I would put in a third copy of Dúnedain Remedy and take out Captain of Gondor and maybe a Ranger of Cardolan or a Fornost Bowman. |
