Intro: My goal was to create a strong deck using Secrecy cards which require below 20. I've tested the deck on all my scenarios. I've focused on balancing the deck to beat as many scenarios as possible. From 18 scenarios the deck was successful in 14 (see log below).
Strength:
- Nicely balanced deck with extra resources (Resourceful), quest progress (Escort from Edoras, Bofur), healing (Warden of Healing), drawing cards (Gléowine, Daeron's Runes), ready heroes (Miruvor) and heroes ready with strong stats and low threat.
- In most scenarios it was easy to keep the low and use Secrecy perk.
- Highly depended on player's skills, the deck with such a low brings many options, I found myself being defeated by my mistakes not having the right cards.
Weakness:
- First hand is crucial - with Light of Valinor or Resourceful the deck is strong, otherwise the game gets very challenging.
- Weak against scenarios that are heavy on enemies, even easy scenarios with many enemies became extremely hard.
- Highly dependent on heroes, typically I got into play only 2-3 allies per game.
Best Combo/Cards:
- Glorfindel with Light of Valinor and Asfaloth - brings 3 a killer card for locations and still Glorfindel is ready for defense/attack
- Resourceful - one of the most important cards in the whole deck.
- Bofur, The Riddermark's Finest and Escort from Edoras - key cards for quest progress.
- Risk Some Light, Henamarth Riversong, Needful to Know - able to manage/know the encounter deck
- Gléowine and Daeron's Runes for drawing cards.
- the usual core cards Miner of the Iron Hills, The Galadhrim's Greeting, A Test of Will, Unexpected Courage.
Medium/Low Cards:
- Out of Sight and O Elbereth! Gilthonial! - did not used these cards much, however for some scenarios these cards saved my neck.
- A Burning Brand - useful only for Khazad-dum and Dwarrowdelf scenarios which have nasty shadow effects.
Final Thoughts: Key is the setup hand, with only 2 heroes the starting position needs to be strong. Once I got the right setup hand and early receive at least few strong cards, the deck copes well with most of the scenarios.
