Allright! I am a bit rusty and unexperienced with deckbuilding and usually don't publish them, but recently I got back into the game and am loving everything written about it online. So I figured: let's contribute a bit to the community and start publishing my decks. Hopefully someone gets some inspiration from it! :)

Summary & theme

In essential this is a Tactics Eagle Deck, with cards from Rohan and Gondor. When building I imagined the Eagles joining the Battle of the Pelennor Fields/Battle for Minas Thirith. This deck takes some time to really start up ; that's partly the reason there is a focus on defense (and was even more, but I changed some cards to get it a bit more versatile). But once this deck warms up, it is a force to be reckoned with.

It plays best in multiplayer, but I can see someone making this into a solo deck. Let's dive in a bit more!

The Heroes & Attachments *how stunning is the art on all three heroes!

Beregond: our great Defender. He can really withstand whole armies if you pack him with cards like Spear of the Citadel and Citadel Plate, which he can buy for 2 resources less. The Raven-winged Helm and Captain of Gondor cards fit him quite well too. And if you have an extra card on hands of Support of the Eagles, you can even boost his or . If you play with another deck, he really benefits from a readying effect.

Éomer: our furious attacker . Give him Support of the Eagles and a Rohan Warhorse and he defeats whole armies, while Beregond defends. A Captain of Gondor fits him quite well too, even though he is Rohan. His ability to gain +2 is great with eagles coming and going.

Éowyn: our quester. Her combined with her ability makes her reason enough to include (next to the thematic reason of her and Eomer fighting alongside). She really has the one attachment meant for her with Golden Shield, so she can help defend when Beregond is using it's sentinal to help other players. Her ability to raise threat and strike hard helps against bigger enemie and is the reason Secret Vigil is included, so there is at least one form of reduction possible to counter the cost of three to activate her ability.

Allies & attachments

Obviously it got some eagles. Not all, since I'm still building my deckpool and I'm not using proxy's. But if you do, you even have more options available. The eagles are assisted by some heroes from Rohan and Gondor and a resource aid from Pelargir. Radagast is there to help with the resource gathering for the eagles, add some healing power for the eagles and offer some . He is expensive, but in my plays I use him quite often.

Eagles of the Misty Mountains are there because they add some power to this deck ánd offer a solution for eagles disapearing. When this card is boosted, the heroes with Support of the Eagles benefit greatly.

Grimbold is there to aid when there are simply too much enemies or a big baddy engaged with you. He adds some and sacrifices himself to disable one attack when you really need it. Which activates Éomer's ability for +2 .

Gwaihir is expensive, but offers some great value and if you have the timing right he enables another ally too. Great for when you lose Landroval or Eagles of the Misty Mountains. Add Sword-thain and you have your Eagle Hero ;)

Honour Guard helps with some extra and damage cancelling, while Westfold Outrider offers extra attack and lets you engage an (extra) enemy, which can be really usefull.

The Winged Guardian is there to take some attacks and then dissapear boosting Éomer and Eagles of the Misty Mountains. Vassal of the Windlord deals out some nice extra damage. And you can attach Born Aloft, so you have more control on activating the ability of Eomer.

Events I'm quite unsure about the events. I feel like switching out Blade Mastery with something else, but I am not sure yet. Obviously The Eagles Are Coming! is added to provide with some eagle cards and To the Eyrie is added to save an ally like radagast of Landroval.

Swift Strike, Feint, Quick Strike and Blade Mastery all adds extra attack/defense options when needed. And Hail of Stones is great for when you have a lot of Eagles and want to take out an enemy before it can attack you (giving Beregond some room to breathe).

That's about it! Hope you like it. Any suggestion or feedback is very welcome, since I'm looking to upgrade this deck more and more. I really like to play it in it's current state, but I feel like it can be better. I do try to keep a thematic balance, which limits the deck a bit *I really enjoy the theme though, so no problem for me . Feel free to suggest anything however, even if it doesn't fit the theme! :)

"how stunning is the art on all three heroes!"

You get one like for your Magali Villeneuve lineup :-)

I would make room for 3 Flight of the Eagles, probably removing Sword-Thain, To the Eyrie and Born Aloft. Add Meneldor too, he is great.

In solo play you should try Steward of Orthanc for questing and card draw.

Thanks Emmental, I just now noticed they are all from Magali haha!

I currently don't have the cards you mention, but will lookout for those expansions :)
