This deck is built around the incredibly powerful ability of Treebeard, with the majority of the cards included to boost and support him.
Card Draw. This deck tries to build up Treebeard quickly. For that, Gléowine and Master of the Forge are two allies to assist with card draw. Sneak Attack Gandalf may provide additional cards, along with the events Daeron's Runes and Heed the Dream. Protector of Lórien is included to boost stats and thin your hand once you are up and running.
Questing. On turn one, you can quest for seven and still have a readied hero without having played any cards! Frodo Baggins should quest every round. When you do not have any cards in hand which requires a leadership resource (all cost one), his ability helps to manage threat and allow Treebeard to quest without exhausting. (MotK) Firyal provides an additional 3 willpower and knowledge of the encounter deck. With Ent Draught and all the healing in this deck, Treebeard can be damaged for additional willpower to clear a location or move to the next stage. Discard with Protector of Lórien as needed.
Defending. Treebeard is the dedicated defender in this deck, starting with a very respectable three defense and five hit points. With Dúnedain Warnings, his defense is at six. With Ent Draught and Protector of Lórien he can take on most attacks without worry. Dúnedain Signal allows him to defend around the table.
Attacking. Treebeard is also the dedicated attacker in this deck! He starts with a very respectable three attack. Dúnedain Mark can boost him to six attack. Each damage you add to him will increase how much damage those branches are doing.
Healing. Throughout a quest, Treebeard is taking a lot of damage. That is why this deck has so much healing. Warden of Healing, Wellinghall Preserver, and Ioreth are all allies providing healing. Self Preservation, while expensive, provides reliable and repeatable healing for a deck that takes so much damage. The Long Defeat is a favorite card of mine, and will be a favorite card in any solo or multiplayer game- for healing or card draw.
Readying. Due to how much Treebeard is doing in this deck, readying is key. A Good Harvest should be saved for Unexpected Courage. Frodo Baggins's ability, Cram, and The Dam Bursts provide additional readying, so this deck has no trouble using Treebeard multiple times a round and for multiple players.
Alternative Hero. Where there is a clash with (MotK) Firyal, I recommend (MotK) Haleth due to the amount of attachments in the deck. Beravor and Bifur are both useful as well.

Sep 27, 2021right if you discard so or so many cards with protector, 2 gleowine might be the better choice. on the other hand a (sneaked) gandalf get you 3 cards. another thing, is Heed the Dream this important? its only 1 card, with Mithrandir's Advice you get 2 for that cost. special if you discard much with the protector i think mass is better than class in this way, or not? |
nice 29-thread-deck (if playing Firyal not give you bad feeling ;) )
would reduce Gléowine to 1 and either put in a 3rd Gandalf or a Master of the Forge (with this many attachements it is nearly as good as gleowine)
