Playing through the Against the Shadow cycle solo progression style. I've had success against all of the quests of this cycle except The Morgul Vale!
Highlights of this deck are:
- Enemy management Between the Ranger Spikes, Feint, and Beregond equipped with Gondorian Shield my defenses are rock solid. Counterattacks are conducted by Glorfindel equipped with Rivendell Blade and support from Vassal of the Windlord.
- Questing is handled by Glorfindel and the outlanders Ethir Swordsman and Anfalas Herdsman
- Card draw Gandalf, Daeron's Runes, Ancient Mathom, Damrod, and Master of the Forge
- Resource acceleration Envoy of Pelargir and A Good Harvest are technically not resource acceleration but they do a descent job of helping the deck to play enough cards to keep the momentum going.
- Treachery Cancellation A Test of Will

Oct 28, 2021Love the hero-lineup! One thing you might consider is dropping one of the Rivendell Blades for another weapon, say a Warrior Sword or Dagger of Westernesse. This way, Glorfindel could have one of each for attacking, which might be a bit more versatile than two Rivendell Blades, which have diminishing returns when fighting enemies with low DEF. |
Oct 28, 2021would replace the Defender of Rammas with Knights of the Swan, they can fight or quest if at least 1 Ethir Swordsman is out. for defense beregond +events + perhaps a Vassal of the Windlord or Master of the Forge to chump should be enough solo. song+torch is heavy comittment and with this carddraw you might have it in the lategane if at all. the torch is sneack-errated restricted, so i recomand instead a few Sterner than Steel |
Since you already have Lore access, I've found Song of Wisdom + Burning Brand to be an excellent second restricted attachment on Beregond for covering shadow cancellation. It's a card combo, but your Masters of the Forge really make attachment combos easier to pull off.
Obv Unexpected Courage on Beregond is brokenly good, but I get it if you don't have enough physical copies or are trying to avoid too many power cards, haha.
Excellent use of Envoy of Pelargir, BTW.
