RegisF 6

I used to play in thematic mode a scouting rohan deck during the Ring-maker cycle. I had a lot of fun and I looked for the same kind of playstyle : avoid enemies and try to kill them before being engaged with them. Eomer grey wanderer was my first choice but was always an issue so I added his cousin Theodred and a Theoded's knight, Herubrand. It's not the ultimate deck but a solo rohan deck which works pretty fine.

The deck

The deck engine is Eomer's capacity to attack while questing. Assuming he kills his target, you avoid a defense and also remove threat from the staging area. To fuel this engine, you need two cards : Deeping Bowman and Gúthwinë. The first one allows you to bypass and the second, if you kill th enemy brings back to life the bowman. Most of the common enemies have 4 or 5 life points and the big one you can have more firepower with Spear of the Mark. Herubrand is only here to enjoy the show while questing : he rewards each killing in the staging area by a card draw and his is increased by restricted items. Theodred usually gives his resource to Herubrand.

Deeping Defender is the only real defense of this deck and have the same effect as Terrible to Behold : push back the enemy into the staging area. The defender can also combo with Fresh Tracks in order to 2hp or wounded enemies. Elfhelm and Grimbold have a double purpose here, the second uses his 2 to contribute to quest and can save you from undefending attack sacrifying himself. Elfhelm is only play via his action, making him the best support for defending, attacking and maybe questing. Cherry on the cake, he's the perfect target for Worthy of Remembrance.

Need Brooks No Delay and The Gathering Storm have to accelerate the deck setup.

Weaknesses

It's easy to be location lock, even with an average 8-10 in mid game. Auto-engaging enemies can become quickly lethal as a lot of low engagement enemies.

Sideboard

A toolkit for adjusting quest (with or )

with this heroline-up and no synergies to discarding allies (in rohan) did u consider a Forth, The Three Hunters!?

Herubrand is made for it and the others too, because both should quest. the low startingthread helps to avoid engagement.

in both cases the Dúnedain Mark would be a nice addition, if you stay on allies, i would add Gandalf and Sneak Attack each 3.

Sneak Attack is not only good for gandalf, it can also be used with:

you are event-heavy consider 1-2 of these Tome of Atanatar yea they cost you 2 but gives a huge flexibility in reuse events, and with Théodred you should not be low on res.

I'm not playing 3 hunters with this line up because I wanted the bowman to help Eomer one shot enemies in the staging area. Plus, the bowman becomes recursive with Guthwine and I find this heros line-up weak without allies to help them questing or defending.

I know how works sneak attack thx, I would consider adding it but for the moment the deck is working pretty fine. It need allies who stay in play till I sacrifice them, otherwise, I would use temporaly allies bumpers like horns, horns horns or the muster of rohan.

I'm really not convince byt the tome. events are 0 or 1 resource and useful in the beginning of the game. At that specific moment, I can't spend 2 resource to recycle a 0 or 1 resource, I have to keep them to play an ally or Guthwine In mid game, they become a winmore, so i don't need them so much.

Really fun hero lineup and the Gúthwinë/Deeping Bowman combo works surprisingly well!

Also nice to finally see some use for The Gathering Storm - Both for the discount and the card draw (w. Herubrand).

I did tweak it a bit, though. Fewer events, more allies.
Maybe I should give them another try, but Fresh Tracks and Terrible to Behold never really worked out for me.

Some card suggestion you could try out:

Thx for your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed testing this deck !

I'll try your suggestions, they're very interesting. I took a direction with this deck that was to avoid enemies instead of defendeing against them, because that would mean be engaged with them, which this deck didn't like at all. That's the reason why I let on the side of the road the mighty Warden of Helm's Deep.
