PablOvi 484
PablOvi has a newer deck inspired by this one: The Oliphaunt in the Room
Disclaimer: This is not a secrecy deck...
Middle Earth academics believe that, if you want to go deep into Mordor without raising any suspicion, giant bears and eagles are not recommended as your first choice. However, Radagast has never paid attention on the people behind the desks.
This deck has just one change regarding the previous version. I added the Messenger Ravens for improving card drawing (it synergizes with the Wizard Pipe for having a safe draw at the end of each turn). For making space, I removed the Meneldor's Flight (it is a good card for this deck but Born Aloft and Flight of the Eagles are better and do the same job). Thank you @doomguard and @NERD for your suggestions. :)
Heroes:
Notes:
- Gwaihir can be readied outside planning phase, without discarding allies, with:
- Beorn is not immune to Landroval's response (and those are good news).
- Since Radagast is going to quest without exhaustion most of the time, the Word of Command can also target him.
- Threat reducers:
- Favor of the Valar
- Gandalf. Each copy can be used multiple times with:
- Born Aloft, Flight of the Eagles and Meneldor's Flight are also useful to...
- put back in hand (before triggering discard actions):
- trigger leaving play responses of:
- The Wizard Pipe is useful for using the Gwaihir's Debt as a Sneak Attack.
- Use the pipe to move the target card in your hand to the top of the deck and then play it for 1 with the debt.
- The pipe also synergizes with the Messenger Raven. Once you move the card in your hand to the top of your deck, it is a safe card draw at the end of that round.
Sideboard:
- Support of the Eagles
- It was originally in the deck, but I found threat reduction more needed than boosting Gwaihir (since this deck already has good defenders and attackers). So, I swapped them by two copies of the Favor of the Valar.
- If needed, since Born Aloft and Flight of the Eagles do the same job than Meneldor's Flight but in a better way, you can remove it and then include some copies of the support.
