I don't play Blood and Fire decks often, but when I do, this is the route I go. I like this deck because it gives you the feel of an uber powerful Gandalf in combat. It feels thematic because of the fact he single-handedly takes down a Balrog, which is no simple task and requires a lot of power.
How it Works:
Your opening hand would like to see Gandalf's Staff or Wizard Pipe to speed up the set up process. Get Steward of Gondor on Gandalf as fast as possible, which can be done by playing it from the top of your deck, or with A Good Harvest. Once attached you can give the Wizard Blood of Númenor and Gondorian Fire. These Attachments are fueled by Steward of Gondor and Gandalf's Staff.
Arwen Undómiel and Éowyn are there to quest. There is Elven-light as well as plenty of uniques can be discarded for Arwens ability, or cards that you just won't need.
Questing is amplified by Ethir Swordsman and Galadriel's Handmaiden. Early game defensive solutions are provided by the Defender of Rammas. Legolas and Treebeard are powerful allies that can be a great help.
Master of the Forge, Gléowine, Heed the Dream all help in assisting card draw, in order to get the right attachments down as fast as possible.
With Shadowfax, Unexpected Courage and a well-time Flame of Anor there is plenty of action advantage (all for Gandalf) to make the wizard dominate the combat phase.
A bonus about this blood and fire deck is that you can help your friends in multiplayer tackle combat because of Shadowfax blessing Gandalf with Ranged and Sentinel.
The deck is quite consistent and very powerful. Good luck! Enjoy hunting Balrogs :)

Feb 09, 2017I have struggled with Gandalf hero since he came out. I seem to never find the deck that feels right for him. |
What the fire (if you'll see what I did there, lol). I love this. Gandalf is such a selfish way to play when you're with friends, as I typically am, but if you're going to do it, it might as well be as busted as this. Well done sir.
