passage of mirkwood one round 1.0

I saw a few decks that tried to beat passage from Mirkwood in 1 round. So, this is mine, its based on the few that I have seen. There is no one card that is needed to win but a few in the right combination should give you a huge chance of winning.

Player cards

Heroes

Éowyn- quests a lot and will help vs ungoliant spawn when 3b is reached

Legolas He is there so he can kill an enemy to beat 2b ( needs 2 progress)

Argalad He can quest and can use action to damage spider and lower its threat (needs to ready to do this)

Contract

The Riddle-game - This is to equip an attachment The Arkenstone which is attached to a hero (probably Éowyn) it will give a boost to willpower. Do not discard your cards against the Hungry Creature keep them!

Allies

Ioreth and Henamarth Riversong - Both there to quest. {remember the bonus willpower from The Arkenstone} they are both cheap cost allies you can afford.(you could riversongs ability but Far-sighted is better

Wilyador -can help with the quest( likely) but he can attack or defend (less likely )

Westfold Outrider- this card help you engage ungoliant spawn if you need to. If Legolas fails to kill the forest spider, when your at 2b before encounter phase, you wont be able to engage ungoliant spawn (then you can use this guy to Engage it ). However this is should be a last resort as its expensive and there are cheaper options

Attachments

The One Ring this is an interesting option and can be equipped by any of the heroes. However my choice is Argalad then Legolas then Eowyn (choose The Ring of Power as your starting master card.

Black Arrow and Bow of Yew are both for Legolas to help him kill the enemy in stage 2b if needed.

Dagger of Westernesse is to help Éowyn _( there are cheaper events that help her and this should be used if cheaper options are not available)

Strength and Courage is not really needed unless your desperate and have equipped The One Ring on Eowyn or Legolas and need the attack boost

Events

the card drawing events are there to help ensure you have the correct set of cards Daeron's Runes, Drinking Song, Deep Knowledge and Foe-hammer

Tireless Hunters This is similar to what the Westfold Outrider does but it is cheaper and is recommended over him ( you will have to defend the ungoliant spawns attack though)

Hands Upon the Bow- this is so legolas can kill the enemy when your in 2b before engagement phase. so you can engage ungoliants spawn ( and is the best option over Tireless Hunters and Westfold Outrider

Far-sighted is an awesome card it allows you to see the next card in the encounter deck. it is highly recomended to use this card. After seeing u know how much threat to put in exactly and also what you will need to play

The Master Ring should not ne used as it will stop you using ring of power. However if you have used Far-sighted and know its something you cannot deal with, then, you may have to

Justice Shall Be Done free resources and cards use it.. awesome! The White Council- after you have used farsighted u can use this accordingly. readying or resource or even drawing a card (if your desperate)

Reckless Attack this is the preferred way of killing the ungoliants spawn as card costs 0. and Eowyn will leave him with 1 hp.

Pursuing the Enemy this is not as good as Reckless Attack as it needs Henamarth Riversong to be played but will do the job and kill the spawn

Encounter Quest

1b) This requires 8 progress (you will need to quest a lot for this a minimum of 11)

2b) requires legolas to kill an opponent for the progress (he will need help)

3b) Requires eowyn to kill the ungoliant spawn (she will need help) (note if 3b is the Beorns Path then deck fails SORRY!)

Strategy

Some cards you should always play if they come. Justice Shall Be Done!, Far-sighted, is perhaps the most important as you know which cards to play to win, and Ioreth (she is free) and most likely Henamarth Riversong If you are using argalads ability remember You can use it after questing (unless king spider is coming)

REMEMBER TO HAVE EITHER HANDS UPON THE BOW IN HAND (OR TIRELSS HUNTER) OR THE OURTIDER IN PLAY.

When it comes to questing If you know whats coming then it becomes quite simple. If a location is coming then simple quest enough to put 8 progress in. (play cards that will help with you do that) If an enemy comes this is much harder but avoid taking them if possible (only take what you have to) and these attacks will be undefended. If you know the king spider is coming quest with all you characters or leave legolas and 1 other behind). (if its ungoliant spawn its probAbly a loss unless you use The Master Ring) If its a treachery then questing wont be as big a problem ( you probably don't want an enemy)

When it comes to legolas killing his enemy remember that aragalad can deal 1 damage with ability in questing phase then you you can Hands Upon the Bow or Bow of Yew to deal that 1 extra damage. Black Arrow will do the trick. ( or any of the other damaging events as long legolas does the killing blow)

IF HAND UPON THE BOW WAS NOT USED TO KILL ENEMY BEFORE ENCOUNTER THEN YOU MUST EITHER HAVE TIRELESS HUNTERS IN HAND OR THE OURTIDER IN PLAY TO ENGAGE IT

When it comes to 3B and your facing the spawn, Do Eowyn's action and attack. You have lots of different ways to more damage but the cheap events are your best bet such Reckless Attack
