I have found this deck to be really successful in all aspects of the game. Círdan the Shipwright quests, Denethor defends, and Aragorn does all the killing.
Here are my ideal situations:
- Sword that was Broken
- War Axe
- Bow of Yew
- Sword of Númenor
- Steward of Gondor / Rod of the Steward
- Both Unexpected Courages
- Golden Belt and another Sword of Númenor or Bow of Yew
Obviously you have to make due with the cards that are drawn first, but if you can make this happen Círdan the Shipwright quests for a ton (13+) without exhausting, Denethor can defend multiple times while removing shadow cards, and Aragorn is a killing machine.
I know people might argue that you should give Celebrían's Stone to Aragorn for the Spirit bonus but I so rarely quest with him that it hasn't been worth it.
It's kind of important that Aragorn gets Sword that was Broken otherwise his tactics resources are pretty useless. I also give him Steward of Gondor and Rod of the Steward so that he can facilitate some card draw and then Denethor can move an extra resource over to him as well. But I've also just had to give the Rod of the Steward to Denethor b/c it was taking too long to draw Steward of Gondor for Aragorn.
I don't know how people use the sideboard section of this site, but I personally just put stuff in there that I might need to swap in and out based on the scenario. This particular configuration has Path of Need in it b/c I was trying to beat the Dread Realm, but I don't normally need to use that card otherwise.
I'm positive that the elite deck builders on this site could make this much more efficient but overall I'm really happy with this deck and I'm confident it can be a high percentage of quests. I'm really curious to hear any and all suggestions.

Mar 06, 2021You might like to consider Thorongil, since it gives a lot of flexibility with Aragorn. Fun deck! |
Mar 06, 2021Using Thorongil to get Aragorn would be a way to use the tactics Aragorn's resources if I don't get my Sword that was Broken/Steward of Gondor combo on him early. Good idea, |
I like this deck. Very straightforward. Someone will probably have some ideas for it but it looks good to me. Thanks for sharing.
