my 1. Into the West -deck

if the contract synergies with the Eagles of the Misty Mountains then it is a high-end-deck if not it still a playable allrounder solid eagle-deck.

what does that mean?

optimal:

"remove from the game" is usuable for "leaves play". then the ally gives also ressourses and support an Eagles of the Misty Mountains

saurons law:

if something is "removed from the game" you cannot physical use the card to attach to an eagle. (if not done i think Alep should clarify this in their errata)

if saurons law is the rule, consider at the cheap allies who bear Into the West to let them die in battle or get back with Flight of the Eagles

mulligan: Radagast's Staff and Flight of the Eagles are the cards to look for

Setup:

  • do bot forget to subtract eowyns bonus, so you start with 27
  • search for an Eagles of the Misty Mountains with widfast
  • use contract to search for an ally, preferable Meneldor or other 3-cost

1.round:

2.round

  • play Radagast's Staff if possible if not,
  • play Daeron's Runes if possible to search for the staff
  • with the (optimal) 3 additional res play an expensive ally (gandalf is cheap with the bonus)
  • with staff play an eagle
  • attach Into the West to an expensive ally (specially if its gandalf) or a cheap ally if you want to keep the expensive ally

. . . . .

win ;)

Nice idea, I have also been working on an Into the West eagle deck, but I really wanted to use Radagast. Why Beechbone? Support of the Eagles would be better and more fun. Consider adding Word of Command and a third Veteran Eagle. I would remove some of the zero cost cards, and then add more of each other number. Regardless, Deep Knowledge is better than the The Wizards's Voice.

to Deep Knowledge i usually agree, but do use The Wizards's Voice in no other deck ;)

i have thought of Word of Command but i think it can only paid with radagast res and that should better be invested in more allys. on the other hand, if you do not find the staff it could be very helpful. testing should reveal if it is necessary

Beechbone quests for 2 that is rarely in tactic and he fits the 3-cost-slot and i prefer him over Support of the Eagles because he can quest. attack and defense will soon be enough. (if needed the staff can ready the big eagle)

the 3.Veteran Eagle falls to the equal number of the contract. i would consider add him and reduce a Unexpected Courage. increasing all countings by 1 seems not good for me.

If you are using Beechbone for questing Bofur and especially Steward of Orthanc would be far better. There are not that many cards that only Radagast can buy, so I think a single Word of Command is still probably worth it. However, I understand your reasoning.

Bofur is better you are right, i thought somehow, that ents are creatures, but they are not. and the Steward of Orthanc is also better.

what 1-cost-card would you cut for 1 Word of Command?

I would probably cut a Vassal of the Windlord. However, looking at the deck a bit more, not including Word of Command is understandable.
