Revised Content Only + Forth, The Three Hunters!
"With hope or without hope we will follow the trail of our enemies. And woe to them, if we prove the swifter! We will make such a chase as shall be accounted a marvel among the Three Kindreds: Elves, Dwarves, and Men. Forth the Three Hunters!"
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Two Towers
Lore:
After the events in Boromir's Departure, the Fellowship of the Ring is broken.
Aragorn, Legolas & Gimli, began pursuing the Uruk-Hai to rescue Merry & Pippin, calling themselves: The Three Hunters.
Aragorn will be our main quester and second defender (4 + shadow discarder, ready ability + a potential of 9
Gimli main defender + retaliate, he is here to take hit & buff is attack (A potential of 15)
Legolas secondary attacker, when he kill ennemies he help the quest, up to 5 progress token at a time
Restricted :
- Aragorn: Armored Destrier, Gondorian Shield, Celebrían's Stone
- Legolas: Blade of Gondolinx2, War Axe
- Gimli: Citadel Plate, Dwarven Axe, War Axe
Deck mechanics:
-
Draw: Ancient Mathom, Foe-hammer, We Are Not Idle & Rod of the Steward
-
Heal/Damage Mitigation: Dúnedain Remedy, Raven-winged Helm + Side B action of Forth, The Three Hunters!
-
Resource Generation: Ranger Provisions, Rune-master, Steward of Gondor
-
Ranger Summons is a fun way to get around the ally restriction from Forth, The Three Hunters! (At least that's my understanding of the rules, maybe I'm wrong)
Concerning sideboard:
- Interesting combo: Terrible to Behold + Hands Upon the Bow
- Battle-fury can be an interesting replacement for Quick Strike when building with a restricted collection
- Common Cause could prove useful with the multiple ready abilities of Aragorn (Own ability + Heir of Mardil + Unexpected Courage)
- Hasty Stroke & A Test of Will are life savers for some scenarios, but the dependance on Celebrían's Stone for the icon made me benched them on sideboard
This is a companion deck for my Boromir's Departure deck + my first attempt at building a Forth, The Three Hunters! deck, I'm sure there's space for improvements, please feel free to share your ideas with me !
