TO THE GREY HAVENS

"Though they rode through the midst of the Shire all the evening and all the night, none saw them pass, save the wild creatures; or here and there some wanderer in the dark who saw a swift shimmer under the trees, or a light and shadow flowing through the grass as the Moon went westward. And when they had passed from the shire, going about the south skirts of the White Downs, they came to the Far Downs, and to the Towers, and looked on the distant Sea; and so they rode down at last to Mithlond, to the Grey Havens in the long firth of Lune."

--LotR VI, p.383

DECK OVERVIEW

This deck is an exercise in trying to consistently take advantage of the effects of the Noldor allies from "The Grey Havens"--Sailor of Lune, Warden of the Havens & Mithlond Sea-watcher--who get bonuses depending upon the type of card on the top of your discard pile. Here's how it's designed to work:

1.) Make the last card played before quest resolution an event to give Sailor of Lune +1 for the quest. Easy enough: Mulligan for Elven-light to discard each Planning Phase for Arwen Undómiel's resource generation, or play Elrond's Counsel after characters are committed to the quest to contribute its +1 .

2.) Discard an attachment before resolving enemy attacks to give Warden of the Havens +2 for defending. Again, easy: Discard either Cram or Miruvor to ready Elladan after he quests.

3.) Lastly, to power Mithlond Sea-watcher's +2 bonus for attacking, either defend or attack first with Watcher of the Bruinen or Trollshaw Scout and discard an ally from your hand to keep the Watcher/Scout in play. If no allies are in hand to discard, you could consider using Envoy of Pelargir or Herald of Anórien as a chump blocker instead. In the late game, if there's no better option, go ahead and let the Watcher/Scout be discarded by its Forced effect. It may seem like a waste, but consider: at a cost of 2 you get a defender/attacker, then potentially a +6 bonus with all 3 Mithlond Sea-watchers in play.

Rationed at one discarded attachment and one discarded ally per round, you should be able to get 6 rounds worth of bonuses out of "The Grey Havens" allies, though usually not every ally on every round.

HEROES & ATTACHMENTS

Arwen Undómiel 5 1 2 3 Spirit
Attachments: Celebrían's Stone
She will generate a resource with her effect for whoever needs it each round, then quest.

Elladan 2 3(5) 2 4 Tactics
Attachments: Rivendell Blade, Cram x3, Miruvor x3
The goal here is to load him up with Cram & Miruvor, so he can quest, then ready to attack each round. Miruvor also gives him a resource allowing him to ready with his effect and attack again, if desired.

Elrohir 2 2 5 6 Leadership
Attachments: Light of Valinor, Elven Mail, Dúnedain Warning x2, The Day's Rising
He will quest each round, then defend, often gaining a resource with The Day's Rising which allows him to ready with his effect and defend again, when needed.

Ideally, all three heroes will quest each round for a minimum of 9 with Elladan & Elrohir still available to attack & defend.

ALLIES

Envoy of Pelargir provides resources, while Herald of Anórien musters allies. Both join Sailor of Lune to quest. Watcher of the Bruinen & Warden of the Havens defend, and Mithlond Sea-watcher & Trollshaw Scout attack. Warden of the Havens wears the extra Elven Mail and Mithlond Sea-watcher wields the extra Rivendell Blade.

Late in the game, when Arwen Undómiel has amassed some resources and several Noldor allies are in play, play Lords of the Eldar from the discard pile to give every Noldor character +1 , and .

Great deck. Do you find it works better in solo or multiplayer?

Thanks! I have not played it in multi-player, but I could see pairing it with another Noldor deck to take advantage of Lords of the Eldar. One with Círdan the Shipwright and/or Galdor of the Havens would fit the theme nicely.
