Ageolite 48
This deck I built for fun and please note I am still relatively new to the game, less than a year in, so any mistakes are mine and feel free to correct them.
I was considering Arwen Undómiel as the Spirit hero, since she would offer resource smoothing, but then decided the threat may be too much. So I decided to go with Glorfindel instead, and Light of Valinor. For resource smoothing I decided to use To the Sea, to the Sea!instead, since it allows me to play Noldor allies by discarding cards from my hand to pay for them. For resource acceleration I used Resourceful and Steward of Gondor. There is also the Necklace of Girion, but it is bit more tricky to use in some scenarios if it does not come in the right moment. This deck actually has the heroes do rather lot of heavy lighting, but with Elladan and Elrohir's abilities, they can actually do it. Here is what attachments go on which heroes:
Elladan - War Axe , Rohan Warhorse , Steed of the North , Golden Belt and usually Dúnedain Mark. He also gets the Grappling Hook
Elrohir - A Burning Brand, Dúnedain Warning, Protector of Lórien, Elven Mail
Glorfindel - Light of Valinor, Silver Harp, Raiment of War, usually also Magic Ring
Erestor- Leather Boots, Celebrían's Stone and if I have spare also A Burning Brand, usually Necklace of Girion.
As for the Dúnedain Mark I usually play it on Elladan, but due to Weighted Down treachery in The Wilds of Rhovanion and Eren Mithrid cycle, I actually opted for 1 Bulwark of the West instead and put the other on Glorfindel to spread attachments more. Or do not do it and just deal with the loss.
For the resource acceleration cards, I am finding that Necklace of Girion works good on Erestoras the main questor and it helps to pay for some of the two cost Lore cards. Steward of Gondor usually goes on Elrohir, but if I get Resourceful on him first, the next good target is Glorfindel to pay for Lords of the Eldar.
As for good opening hand, here are some good examples:
To the Sea, to the Sea! and Gildor Inglorion are amazing in the opening hand
To the Sea, to the Sea!, Magic Ring put on Glorfindel and Arwen Undómiel are great opening hand too
Otherwise To the Sea, to the Sea! and any other Noldor ally is good opening hand and I tend to mulligan for it.
Decent opening hand is Light of Valinor and any defense buffs for Elrohir or any Hero redying effects like Steed of the North or Leather Boots. Magic Ring may also be a good option. I only tend to use it for safety, to ready Glorfindel or to give him a resource.
The End Game
The end game for this deck is definitely combination of Eregion Survivor and Lords of the Eldar. The Lords of the Eldar are played from discard pile and then put at the bottom of the deck, which is now empty. It is then drawn and it can be used for discard effect on Lindon Navigator, Protector of Lórien or Imladris Caregiver. I find that single copy of Lords of the Eldar is enough.
Side Board explanation:
I know the contact says exactly 50 cards and I follow the rules, but based on quest, I may decide to temporarily do a swap. Or someone else may prefer thoe cards compared to the ones I selected. E.g not all quests are side quest friendly and then I swap Double Back for either The Galadhrim's Greeting or Elrond's Counsel for that particular quest if I feel like it. Also some people may prefer Sailor of Lune as the end play as the Lords of the Eldar will likely end up on top of the discard pile until you decide to use it. And while I usually play with single copy of Will of the West, I fully admit I tend to put second copy for quests where you lose if your deck is empty, usually taking the Eregion Survivor out. Also I played the deck with Cloak of Lórien for a while, and it worked ok, but I decided to use Protector of Lórien instead in the end. But in some very foresty scenarios, I may still swap these. In few cases I felt like using second Grappling Hook, so I actually removed the Trollshaw Scout. And he also gets removed if I play a quest where having ranged helps. In which case the Rivendell Bow goes on Erestor. I can also see myself swapping Steward of Gondor for Ranger Provisions.
