This deck is part of a 4-player fellowship. Its main task is defending every enemy as well as killing some plus supporting the other attackers of this group (Glorfindel and Argalad).

The Vigilant Dúnadan is the key card in this deck. Because our co-adventurers play Gather Information reliably in the first round, we should be able to play it in round 2 at latest. If we can manage to find one copy during setup or with Círdan the Shipwright's ability and if we get the Steward of Gondor from our Partners in round 1, we might even play it in round 1 (which happens quite often actually).

Because we suceeded at Gather Information in round 1, we already have a non-kneeling defender which will be further boosted by Tale of Tinúviel and Arwen Undómiel. Arwen is a secure thing, because our partner deck can search her with Gather Information in first round. That makes the dunadan to a non-kneeling defender with Sentinel and 3 . If we add a well played Tale of Tinúviel we should be able to get him to 6 or 7 . This allows to defend almost every attack we will encounter from normal enemies (might not work for some special boss enemies).

The only difficulty is to play Tale of Tinúviel every round. To achieve that, the fellowship has 3 out of 4 decks playing a Noldor hero with high (Círdan the Shipwright, Galadriel and Glorfindel) and 3x Tale of Tinúviel each. Furthermore we have recursion in the form of Dwarven Tomb or maybe also Map of Earnil.

If this doesnt work out, we have another fallback option with Henneth Annûn Guard (best jumped in using Prince Imrahil)

Another important thing is to dodge nasty shadow effects, why we play Hasty Stroke and Sterner than Steel.

Spear of the Citadel goes on Vigilant Dúnadan of course, all the other attachments are meant to be played on heroes in other decks.

A Test of Will is an obvious choice whenever you play at least 1 hero.

The choice of the allies is a mixture of cards you want to play (Vigilant Dúnadan, Honour Guard) and cards you want to put into play using Prince Imrahil's ability (especially Beorn, but also Galadhon Archer, Marksman of Lórien and Riddermark Knight). Azain Silverbeard, Legolas and Jubayr can be used both ways.

Cool idea, what about a few keep watch so that if you dont draw the tale you have 3 def -1 attack with arven. Sterner than steel is useless? if tou defend with vigilant D?? Otherwise i like it.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sterner than Steel should work with Vigilant Dúnadan because he is equipped with Spear of the Citadel most times. Keep Watch would be a nice addition, but I did not include it because I fear -especially in Dol Guldur- the fellowship can not afford more then 2 side quests.

Thx i have not played that quest so.....forgive my ignorance. Spear is a good idea thx for the tip missed that one in the description.

I would never call it ignorance :)

And I think in other adventures you are right that Keep Watch will be a good card for this deck.

Also, if you can think of any other ways to boost the Vigilant Dunadan (except making him a hero), let me know it please.

Narya, Henneth Annûn Guard, ent draught, elf friend and then elven mail.

Henneth Annûn Guard is already in the deck, Ent Draught in one of the partner decks. Elf-friend + Elven Mail is interesting, did not think of that.

Are you sure Narya would work? Because if we use Tale of Tinúviel the Vigilant Dunadan is not exhausted anymore, so we cannot ready him with Narya (I think)...?

www.facebook.com Morgul vale was defeated by this fellowship of yours, thx for the idea.

Raiment of War is always a good card in situations like this, although you'd have to give up the Spear of the Citadel. +1 and +2 is a non-trivial bonus. And since the Vigilant Dúnadan doesn't exhaust to defend, you are even going to get use out of the +1 .

Unfortunately the Vigilant Dúnadan is no Warrior.

Right. Oops...

Would be a very good addition otherwise :(
