This deck works best when paired with a dedicated questing deck and is intended for two-player games.
The strategy is a classic Eagles combat deck. Legolas gets Rivendell Blade, the first copy of Support of the Eagles and Rohan Warhorse so he can mow down all opposition. This also boosts the decks "questing" power as every enemy Legolas kills is 2 progress on the current location or quest. Beregond gets the Gondorian Shield, Raven-winged Helm, Armored Destrier, the second copy of Support of the Eagles and The Day's Rising to make him an uber-defender with resource acceleration. Amarthiúl gets Celebrían's Stone and the last Support of the Eagles to make a decent quester, fighter, or defender as needed. Since you can often arrange to be engaged with an enemy, his resources should be flexible and usually he gets Steward of Gondor.
The Eagles Are Coming!, Galadriel, and Valiant Sacrifice will help you dig for what you need. Master Ironsmith protects against scenarios that force you to discard attachments. Faramir, Beorn, and Secret Vigil give the deck a little extra flexibility, but are not critical and could be cut in favor of other cards, depending on need.
The only card worth muliganning for is probably Eagles of the Misty Mountains as you want a copy in play as early as possible. This will power up your heroes and make losing your eagles sting less. Other than that, what you want will depend on the scenario, but best is either some low-cost eagles or your low-cost attachments. Once you have Legolas and Beregond loaded up and have a stacked copy of Eagles of the Misty Mountains, you should be able to defend and destroy without any trouble.
This deck has been really fun to pilot. When paired with a questing deck, it has the potential to protect the table and clear every enemy out of the staging area.
