A modified version of the deck Wisdom and Wizardy suggested in the Fellowship of the Ring Saga expansion using only the revised Core set and the first saga expansion. With it I was able to get through all the scenarios of the Fellowship of the Ring Saga, Passage through Mirkwood, and the two scenarios of The Dark of Mirkwood.
Modifications applied to the suggested deck:
- I added 5 allies to balance the initial deck: 2 copies of Elrond to have some heal and discard of conditions (instead of 1 copy of Galadriel and 1 copy of Snowbourn Scout), 1 additional copy of Faramir, 3 copies of Guard of the Citadel, and 1 copy of Beorn that can be played through Stand and Fight or directly with Gandalf's ability and synergizes extremely well with Flame of Anor.
- I deleted 5 events: the 2 copies of Valiant Sacrifice as drawing should not be a problem with Gandalf's ability and his Gandalf's Staff, all 1 copies of Common Cause, Ever Vigilant and Grim Resolve as we already have 3 copies of Unexpected Courage, and 1 copy of Hasty Stroke, Stand and Fight, A Test of Will and Flame of Anor just to reduce the number of events. I also added 2 additional copies of The Galadhrim's Greeting because our starting threat is quite high, and 2 Sneak Attack to play with Elrond and Galadriel.
- I deleted the 2 copies of Fellowship of the Ring to use this deck outside saga expansion scenarios and added 1 additional copy of Steward of Gondor and Celebrían's Stone.

Dec 21, 2023Thanks Overall I agree with your other proposals (except for Beorn that can also be played combining both Éowyn's and Gandalf's ressources) but I don't have those cards ... This is an enhanced version of the suggested deck using the same sets of cards, so only the Core set and the first saga expansion. I'll update the description of the date to clarify this point! |

Galadriel ability is not triggered if she comes with Sneak Attack. so i would replace her with (asuming only rev-content abeilaible) Galadriel's Handmaiden
pile up 5 res on gandalf to play Beorn is not worth it, would replace him with 1-2 Gondorian Shield
Théodred could gain a Valiant Sword repplacing 1 Celebrían's Stone
following my proposals the Sneak Attack for only Elrond makes less sense, so i would think about replacing it. Keen as Lances makes sense and is a valuable target for Flame of Anor as better replacement for Beorn because it can be paid much more easier and have flexible use.
